Troika

I love the textured ceramics of the Troika Pottery (St Ives and Newlyn, 1963-1983) and I thought I'd try an ATC inspired by them. This is only the first one (reserved for Mamma's Favourite Things challenge) and the texture is suggested by subtly patterned papers, distress inks and acrylics. I plan to experiment with mixing sand into paint, making a collagraph with foam rubber and also carving into polyfilla to see if I can better capture the shapes, tones and textures. You can see some Troika here (scroll down for the rough textured pieces).
