Last month I started another of my fat page jams - with Val and Jenni this time. Themes were Icon (Jenni), Women in History (Val) and Lyrics (moi). These are the ones I made for Val:
For Women in History I chose Amelia Earhart. I collaged various images from Flickr and Google Images, added a pertinent stamp - and strap thingy which looks like it might have come from a flying suit. Free in the Skies is the name of a book about her.

My Icon for Val is a very traditional interpretation (I did something a bit different for Jenni, which you will see once she has received hers). I just painted the images with gold and turquoise paint and added some bling.
This is probably the first time that the pages I made for my theme turned out to be my favourites. But then I did choose Lyrics as my theme and I am a bit of a music nut (a rock snob, even). The rule was that you had to choose a line, couplet or verse rather than a whole song as your inspiration. I chose some lines from the brilliant Tower of Song by Leonard Cohen.
I said to Hank Williams
How lonely does it get?
Hank Williams hasn't answered yet
But I hear him coughing
All Night long
A hundred floors above me
In the tower of song

Front: painted background, altered clip art and speech bubbles (Word 2007). By chance, I found a picture of Mr Cohen looking up.
Back: I was very pleased with myself with this one, until I realised, too late, that the paper is inserted wrongly. Shows how long it is since I have used a typewriter.
